In one of our refresher training sessions, we were talking about how we can differentiate ourselves in the marketplace because the 7 Stages of Growth is a Predictive Model.

When I talk with CEOs, I always talk about the value of being able to help them ‘see around the curve’, ‘stay ahead of their headlights’, ‘get ahead of their growth curve’. We have the only model that allows us to help our CEOs stay ahead of the challenges they face as they grow.

One of our participants asked the question – what if the company isn’t ready to grow into a new stage of growth? How does the concept of predicting growth work in that situation?

Here were some of the ideas we kicked around:

If a company is in Stage 4 and they haven’t focused on Process as their top gate of focus, we can literally PREDICT the issues that will show up if they aren’t focusing on those critical processes.

If a company is in Stage 2 and the CEO isn’t taking on a Dominant Modality, we can PREDICT that there could be a lack of direction that is critically needed at that stage of growth.

If a company is in Stage 3 and the CEO isn’t spending 60% of his/her time in the Manager Face, we can PREDICT the issues that will show up.

This ability to help a CEO PREDICT what they need to pay attention to is a huge differentiator and one you should exploit whenever possible.

No other model out there can do what we can do. We can literally help a CEO adjust to the challenges that will show up as they move from one stage to the other. And even if they have been in a specific stage for a long period of time, we can help them figure out what they need to do to focus on the right things at the right time.
